I grew up skateboarding in Kansas City and was exposed to the bold, graphic designs from the likes of Santa Cruz, Anti Hero, and Toy Machine. In middle school, I was formatting my own drawings to the shape and size of skateboard decks. During my time at the Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis, I began making bold, graphic acrylic paintings on wood. They lended themselves to the style of tattooing, and it was a few years after graduating with a degree in Illustration that I began tattooing.
